Construction of a Portrait

9:00 a.m. – Noon

Classrooms A and B

This four-week class will focus on a better understanding of the foundation and proportions of the face. Learn and practice the key locations that build the facial structure — the key to creating better portraits and capturing a likeness. Explore the best of the Reilly and Loomis methods and the technique of Hogarth to develop a step-by-step process to achieve any 3-D position of the face. Skill level: beginner to advanced.

Instructor: “Scottie” Scott (Linda K. Scott) ran a stained-glass studio for 30 years. Her training and teaching of the traditional glass painting technique led to her interest in drawing. Her passion for the portrait and the enjoyment of teaching continue to draw her back to the classroom to share with others. $120; $100 for Museum members. Supply list provided.
