Traditional Cowboy Artists Association Workshop

In conjunction with the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association (TCAA), this hands-on workshop will address the construction of quirts, their different styles and regional differences. Function, balance and decoration will also be addressed. Skill level required: Intermediate to advanced, participants should have some experience braiding bodies over cores and basic long and short buttons.

Instructors: Nate Wald has been braiding for 30 years, was named Braider of the Year by the American Academy of Western Artists and has been inducted into Montana’s Circle of American Masters. Self-taught, Leland Hensley has been braiding for 35 years. His work has developed a high reputation amongst collectors and working cowboys alike for unique design, beauty and rugged functionality.
