Academy of Western Art: Storytelling Through Art

Join Prix de West artist Bruce Greene as he shares experiences of creating stories out of paint and palette. Take part in warm-up drawing exercises, discussion and demonstrations, and learn to create story and mood through details like facial expression, color, texture and title. Through daily painting and one-on-one instruction, students will gain a better understanding of telling a story through imagery and making emotional connections with art.
Medium: Oil.
Open to Intermediate skill level: Students must be able to draw/sculpt well, comfortable working with the medium used and understand the basic elements of design including composition, value, and color, and fabrication techniques. Experience with critiques.
Cost: $600, $500 for Museum Members.
